“Karagiozis: The Astronomer”

The Shadow Theatre at the airport!

On Friday October 23rd, the Athens airport will offer a special moment of entertainment and Greek tradition to its friends, passengers and visitors, young and… less young!  The Ilias Karellas’ Shadow Theatre Group will set the stage in the Departures Level, with a 45-minute performance:

“Karagkiozis: the Astronomer”

“Who has kidnapped the beautiful Moon?”
“Who has made a deal with planet Mars?”

These are some of the intriguing plot twists of this very special performance, part of the “Fly me to the Moon” programme, a manifold cooperation between Athens International Airport and ελculture cultural platform.

Together with the travelling and visiting public, 45 children from the 2nd Primary School of the neighbouring Spata municipality will enjoy the show and the achievements of the heroes: Karagiozis, this time in the role of the Astronomer, Xatziavatis, and scientist Katsavidis (Screwdriver)!

  • Friday 23 October at 11.00, Departures Level, 2nd floor - Εxhibition area “The Acropolis Museum” - all users’ area.
