Athens International Airport, on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of Samaria Gorge National Park’s designation as an environmentally protected area and in collaboration with the Management Body of Samaria National Park, hosts from May 5 - August 31, 2014 in the exhibition area "Art & Environment", a unique photographic exhibition, entitled "Life embracing rock”.
 
The exhibition promotes and projects the rare beauty and multidimensional natural and human environment and landscape of Crete's Lefka Ori (White Mountains), through 32 photos of twenty-six (26) Greek photographers, who crossed and experienced the power of the mountains and depicted through their lens the contrast between roughness and harmony of the mountain in different shapes, moments and colors.
 
Through this photographic ‘tour’, the exhibition’s visitor, will experience the natural particularity of the White Mountains that combine harmoniously the mountainous and marine environment as well as the forestal and desert element. A digital visual material with more than 400 photos from Samaria National Park will be also projected at the exhibition’s area.
