01. Joint Address by the Chairman and the CEO

April produced positive comments and revealed that the airport has adopted an advanced total system approach towards
safety, whereas various exercises, including the bi-annual full-scale emergency exercise, were conducted in compliance
with our obligations arising from the ICAO regulations.

Driven by its customer-centric philosophy, AIA focused on the enhancement of its overall ambience and product offer,
so as to respond to changing consumer needs and promote sales in view of the unfavourable market background.
Within this context, new commercial units were added to the Shopping Centre portfolio and an extensive refurbishment
programme was implemented. Additionally, aiming to improve passenger experience, new services were developed
aiming at meeting growing consumer demands associated with information on smart phone devices.

In the field of our “off the fence” activities, AIA’s IT&T Business Unit completed projects for the Warsaw Airport and
provided services at five Greek regional airports, i.e. Corfu, Thessaloniki, Rhodes, Heraklion, and Kos. Within AIA’s strategy
to develop external activities in the key emerging international airport markets offering a diverse service portfolio, we
would like to highlight the advisory engagement we undertook in 2010 following a two-year contract with Abu Dhabi
Airports Company for the provision of services in the field of airport marketing.

At the same time, we remained committed to social responsibility, focusing on the creation of value for all our stakeholders
and society at large. Amid a difficult economic environment, we remained consistent with the principles of our corporate
responsibility policy, committed to a balanced approach towards the economic, environmental and social aspects of airport
business. The challenge of connecting corporate interests with the diverse needs of our customers, business partners and
local communities, is the cornerstone of our sustainability strategy while, among other initiatives, new corporate policies
and procedures were established in 2010, aimed at strengthening our philosophy of responsibility and integrity.

Committed to being a valued and trusted neighbour, we have established close ties with the local communities,
responding to community needs by implementing projects in the fields of the environment, education, culture, and
society, within the context of our relevant action plan. Furthermore, AIA has positioned itself as a consistent cultural
and social contributor. In 2010, we welcomed more than 250,000 visitors to our permanent exhibitions, and continued
our collaboration with important Greek and international cultural foundations, providing a pleasant and unique airport
experience. We were delighted to welcome more than 4,000 children to the terminal’s creative entertainment area and
hosted more that 1,500 school visits to the airport.

In the field of environmental responsibility, climate change is a priority for our sustainability strategy. Within this context
we are participating in the Airport Carbon Accreditation programme of ACI Europe, and were upgraded to Level 2
(Reduction), having achieved a 15% reduction in carbon emissions at our facilities - over 10,000 tonnes of CO2 during
the period 2005-2009. 2010 marked the 3rd year of the implementation of the Airport Company’s Climate Change
Corporate Action Plan with a series of activities related to tree planting, clean technology vehicles, recycling and energy-
saving measures. The year’s action was also highlighted by the completion of a tender procedure for the construction of
an 8MW Photovoltaic Park at the airport, which is expected to produce electrical energy, corresponding to 30% of the
airports peak power requirements and contributing to the reduction of CO2 emissions by at least 10,000 tonnes annually,
equivalent to the amount absorbed by over 1,500,000 trees. The installation of AIA’s PV Park is currently under way, and
the facility is scheduled to be operational by the end of 2011, producing more than 10,000,000kWh/yr, to be sold to the
national electricity grid and expanding AIA’s non-aeronautical revenue base.

A very special environmental initiative is the preservation and protection of the neighbouring Vravrona wetlands, an area
of significant archaeological and environmental value which has been “adopted” by AIA. In 2010, additional works were
undertaken, most notably the installation of fencing, the development of educational programs, and the creation of a
footpath for visually impaired visitors.

Consistent with our commitment as a responsible employer, in 2010, we maintained a safe, modern and balanced work
environment for all employees, with systems, working tools and development opportunities. Our Corporate Training
Plan which totalled 11,237 hours of training in 2010 placed particular emphasis on the dissemination of the corporate
vision, mission, and values to all AIA personnel. This constituted the first phase of a customer-centric project, which will
be concluded in 2011 across the entire airport business community, aiming to further enhance customer service and
professionalism in all areas of daily interaction.
