“Aviation and Flight Academy” (June 26th – July 14th, 2017)
Aviation courses in the 2nd Academy organized by the Hellenic American University and the Athens International Airport for students 14-17 years old
 
 
The Hellenic American University is organizing, in cooperation with the Athens International Airport, the 2nd Aviation and Flight Academy, designed for students 14-17 years old, who are keen on aviation and learning its principles, in theory and hands-on.
 
Thus, as of Monday, June 26th, and until July 14th, 2017, the students of the Academy will follow an exciting programme combining in-class sessions and hands-on learning at the Athens and Megara airports. Those who will attend the course “Fundamentals of Aviation & Flight”, will also take flight lessons in a state-of-the-art flight simulator.
 
The courses available during this session, comprise 2 levels, and will be conducted in the English language:
 
Introductory: 
Fundamentals of Aviation & Flight
 
Advanced:
Global Aviation Management & Operations  
Flight Operations
 
On the occasion of the start of the 2nd “Aviation and Flight Academy”, AIA’s Communications and Marketing Director, Ioanna Papadopoulou, stressed:
 
“The 2nd Aviation and Flight Academy is a special and innovative educational initiative that we are continuing this year with the Hellenic American University and our other valuable partners. For a period of one month, our students will be learning every day about the principles of aviation from esteemed and experienced instructors from the aviation and academic community; an exciting programme will provide first-hand observations and practical learning, and will offer a first flavor and picture of the exciting and professionally promising aviation sector!” 
 
According to Dr. Triant Flouris, Provost of Hellenic American University and creator of the programme, “For a second consecutive year, the Academy was designed to serve the dreams and aspirations of the next generation of aviation professionals, providing them with a solid background on which to build, if they choose to be further interested to enhance their education in the aviation industry.”
 
  • Each course provides 45 hours of instruction and 3 college credits (6 ECTS credits)
  • The students wishing to participate in the Advanced Courses, are required to have completed successfully the Introductory course “Fundamentals of Aviation & Flight” of the year 2016.
