Commercial
This is where business meets travellers.
You turn spaces into experiences passengers walk through and partnerships and concessions into tangible results that move the airport forward. Whether you work on the front line or behind the scenes, your work shapes the traveller and visitor experience in ways both visible and unseen.
It’s the part of AIA that feels most alive and that’s because of you. You balance business goals with the spirit of quality and partnership that defines us. Numbers matter, but so do quality and personal growth. You build relationships that last, deliver value with care, and make every project count.
Whether it’s a shop, a lease, or a new development, your work adds life to the airport and meaning to every journey.
- Retail Services
The Retail Services department is responsible for overseeing the commercial activities at Athens International Airport, including retail, food and beverage, services outlets, and advertising across the Main Terminal, Satellite Terminal, and Airport Railway Station. With over 135 outlets, the Retail Services department focuses on aligning the airport's commercial offerings with market trends and passenger needs to enhance the passenger experience and maximize revenue. It also supports partners to improve sales performance, monitors operations, and implements marketing and promotional activities to boost passenger engagement.
- Property Development
The Property Development Department plays a pivotal role in maximizing non-aeronautical commercial revenue and enhancing investment returns through strategic real estate development within the airport. The department operates across two key pillars:
Ground Concessions & Land Commercial Development – This function manages and expands a diverse real estate portfolio within the airport’s non-aeronautical land holdings, focusing on long-term commercial growth and value creation. It oversees ground leases and strategic partnerships, including big retail outlets, the airport hotel, gas stations, and the country’s largest Exhibition & Conference Centre. Additionally, it drives land commercial development by identifying market opportunities, engaging with potential investors, negotiating concession agreements, and overseeing the planning and execution of new projects to maximize land use potential, ensuring that developments align with the airport’s long-term strategic goals.
Management & Leasing of Multi-Use Spaces – This function is responsible for the allocation, leasing, and optimization of office and auxiliary spaces across the Main Terminal, Satellite Terminal, multitenant buildings, and other airport facilities. It ensures efficient space utilization while accommodating the evolving needs of airport stakeholders, including airlines, ground handlers, service providers, and state authorities. This involves planning relocations, negotiating lease renewals, managing space reconfigurations, and supporting operational expansions to enhance efficiency and business continuity within the airport ecosystem.
- Landside Services
The Landside Services department is responsible for ensuring seamless access to the Airport. This includes supervising the curbside zones at both the departure and arrival levels and managing public parking facilities from both operational and commercial perspectives. Additionally, the department oversees the concession agreements related to the Airport's car rental services through its official Car Rental Partners and manages the concession agreement for the Airport Railway Station with OSE.
