OAG Airline Marketing Awards - Athens International Airport awarded by airlines for best marketing and route development support
Athens International Airport was honoured with a new prestigious international distinction within the framework of the 11th World Route Development Forum – Routes (Copenhagen, September, 25th-27th, 2005), the biggest global annual gathering of airports and airlines, this year attracting a record number of 1,700 delegates from 600 airports and 300 airlines from across the world. During the “OAG Airport Marketing Awards” ceremony, the international aviation community awarded Athens International Airport as the Winner 2005 in the category of 10–25 million passengers, for its airline support programme and contribution in route development.
Airline executives from the 300 most established airlines voted AIA for the best airport marketing in the most competitive size category of very successful and dynamic airports (10 – 25 million pax per year). This acknowledgement demonstrates the support AIA provided this year to airlines through its incentives and co-promotion programmes, but, above all, through a long-term partnership between the airport and the airlines, aiming to support airline business and route development.
