Members

Michail Kefalogiannis is currently the Chairman of the Board of Directors of AIA, where he also served as a member of the Board in the period 2008–2009 and again between 2012–2014. He holds a diploma in Economics (Diplom Volkswirt) from the University of Cologne, Germany and an MBA in General Management from Baruch College, New York, USA. He is also a certified board director with a Diploma from IMD Lausanne, Switzerland and has received numerous Certificates on Board Strategy, Risks and Role of the Chair from IMD as well as from INSEAD, France. From 1995 to 2000, Mr. Kefalogiannis was a principal for the private equity arm of Commercial Bank of Greece. Between 2000 and 2014, he acted as Chief Executive Officer, executive Vice-Chairman and Chief Investment Officer of large corporates in Greece, including Alpha TV, CosmoLine Telecommunications and Village Roadshow, and has served on the management boards of banking and insurance organisations (including Interamerican and Nova/Millenium Bank). Mr. Kefalogiannis has also led and coordinated as project manager several important Greek Government projects, including among others the successful privatisation of Olympic Airways in the period 2007–2009. In addition, he has been for a decade Chairman of the board of Greek Tourism and Hotel Enterprises of Crete S.A. (a resort hotel operator). In the period 2022 – 2024, Mr. Kefalogiannis served as independent non-executive Chairman of the board of Hellenic Electricity Distribution Network Operator (DEDDIE), as a non executive member on the Board of Directors of the Hellenic Financial Stability Fund (HFSF), and as independent non-executive member on the Board of Directors of Attica Bank (currently Credia Bank). He is also the co-founder and managing partner of Canary Wharf Value Partners, an investment consulting firm based in Athens.

Gerhard Schroeder is currently the Vice – Chairman of the Board of Directors of Athens International Airport. He holds a diploma in Economics from University of Essen, Germany and is a skilled Business Graduate. He has held various management positions, including Chairman of Airport Strategic Consultants at Sydney Airport and member of the Board of Directors of Sydney Airport. From 2007 to 2011, he held the position of deputy Chief Executive Officer and Chief Finance Officer at Budapest Airport. From 2011 to 2024 he was the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Budapest Airport. Mr. Schroeder is the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of AviAlliance GmbH, the airport investment platform of the Canadian Public Sector Pension Investment Board (PSP Investments), Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of the AGS Airports Ltd., Vice-Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Hamburg Airport and member of the Supervisory Board of Düsseldorf Airport.

George A. Kallimasias is currently the Managing Director (CEO) and Executive member of the Board of Directors of Athens International Airport S.A. (AIA) since February 2026. He joined the Airport Company in 1999 and has since served in a series of strategic and leadership roles, while from 2019 onward, he held the role of Chief Strategy Officer (CSO), contributing decisively to the strategic planning and long-term development of AIA. With more than 25 years of leadership experience in the airport industry, George Kallimasias has successfully led complex strategic initiatives, such as the 20-year extension of AIA’s concession period and the listing of the company’s shares in the Athens Exchange, aligning diverse stakeholder interests, fostering collaboration across teams and establishing strong partnerships with external organizations to deliver sustainable value. Mr. Kallimasias is a member of the ACI EUROPE Board — the European trade association of Airports Council International — as of January 2026 and previously served as Chair of the ACI World Economics Committee for the 2023 - 2024 term. He is also a member of the Board of Directors of AIA’s Institution for Occupational Retirement Provision since its establishment (2021). In the past, he has worked for Deloitte and Enterprise Greece. He has a degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Patras, and a Master of Business Administration from Lancaster University, UK.

Ian Andrews is currently a Non-Executive Member of the Board of Directors of AIA. He graduated with a degree in Jurisprudence from Oxford University in 1986 and qualified as an English solicitor in 1989. He has been involved with the international infrastructure market for over thirty years, having been a partner of Linklaters LLP for twenty-two (22) years until April 2022 and the Sector Leader for its Infrastructure practice for the last eighteen (18) years of that period. Mr. Andrews has been a member of the Company’s Board of Directors since May 2021, as well as a director and trustee for The English Concert since July 2023 and a member of the Advisory Council of the British Museum since June 2024.

Sven Erler is currently a Non – Executive Member of the Board of Directors of AIA. He holds a diploma in Business from Fachhochschule Bochum, Germany and a master’s degree in Accounting and Finance from Hochschule für Oekonomie & Management (FOM), Essen, Germany. He is an Executive Director of Asset Management at AviAlliance GmbH with more than 20 years’ experience in multinational companies across infrastructure and energy sectors. Mr. Erler is an Executive Director of Airport Partners GmbH and of HAP Hamburg Airport Partners Verwaltungsgesellschaft GmbH, where he previously was a managing director until September 2021. He is also a member of the Supervisory Board (and in this capacity also member of its Investment Committee and Personnel Committee) of Flughafen Düsseldorf GmbH (FDG), and a member of the Board of Managers of Aerostar Airport Holdings LLC (San Juan International Airport). Mr. Erler is a member of the Company’s Board of Directors since June 2017. Since February 2024, Mr. Erler is a member of the Company’s Investment Committee and a member of the Company’s Audit Committee.

 

Janis Carol Kong, OBE, is currently a Non-Executive Member of the Board of Directors of AIA. Ms. Janis Carol Kong, holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Edinburgh and has completed the Advanced Management Program of Harvard Business School. She was awarded an honorary doctorate from the Open University in 1999. Ms. Kong held various management positions at Heathrow Airport Holdings Limited (formerly British Airports Authority or BAA) for 33 years until 2006, including, among others, executive Chairperson of Heathrow Airport (from 2001 to 2006), BAA Plc board director (from 2002 to 2006) and Chairperson of Heathrow Express (from 2005 to 2006). She has held various non-executive directorships including, most recently, at Portmeirion Group Plc (from 1999 to 2020) and TUI AG (from 2012 to 2020). Ms. Kong has served as Director of Copenhagen Airport from 2012 until 2025 and the Chair of the Board of Directors of Bristol Airport from 2014 until 2025, and she was a director of Roadis Transportation Holding SLU until June 2024. Ms. Kong was awarded an Officer of the Order of the British Empire (OBE) title in 2002 for services to Transport and to Regional Development in South-East England.

Charalampos Pamboukis is currently a Non-Executive Member of the Board of Directors of AIA. He holds a Law degree from the Université Paris I – Panthéon – Sorbonne, France, as well as a state – accredited Doctorate in Law from the same institution. Mr. Pampoukis has served in high-ranking positions within the Greek government, including as Minister of State to the Greek Prime Minister and as Secretary General at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Greece. In recognitions of his contributions, he has been awarded the rank of “Commandeur de la Legion d’Honneur” by the French Republic. He is an Emeritus Professor of Law at the National & Kapodistrian University of Athens, Greece since 2025 and a founding partner at Pampoukis Maravelis Nikolaidis & Co. Law Firm since January 2004. He is also a Director of the Hellenic Institute of Foreign and International Law, Greece since 2020, a member of the Board of Directors of Aktor Group of Companies since July 2022, Alter Ego Media since October 2024 and Danaos Corporation since May 2025.

Evangelos Peter Poungias is currently a Non-Executive Member of the Board of Directors of AIA. He holds a diploma in Economics from University of Essen, Germany and a doctoral degree of Economics from University of Saarland, Germany. Dr. Poungias, since 1998 with AviAlliance GmbH, was previously an Executive Director of airport operations and development at AviAlliance GmbH, a member of the Board of Directors of Budapest Airport from 2012 to 2017, and a member of the Board of Managers of Aerostar Airport Holdings, LLC (San Juan International Airport) from May 2017 to May 2020 and from July 2021 to October 2024. Dr. Poungias is an Authorised Representative of World Airport Partners Management GmbH since March 2014, and Executive Director of strategic and corporate projects at AviAlliance GmbH since October 2024. Dr. Poungias was a member of the Company’s Board of Directors from 2015 to 2017 and joined again in November 2019. He is the Chairman of the Company’s Investment and Finance Committees since February 2024.

Konstantinos Kollias  is currently an Independent Non-Executive Member of the Board of Directors of AIA. He is an Assistant Professor of Finance at the Economics Department of the Democritus University of Thrace and the President of the Economic Chamber of Greece since February 2014. He is Partner and member of the BoD in a consulting firm, member of the BoD and member of the Renumeration and Nomination Committee of the Athens International Airport, in which he has also served as Chairman of the Audit Committee. In the past, he has served as Special Secretary of Privatizations at the Ministry of Economy and Finance, Director General at the Educational Center for Public Servants of the Ministry of Economy and Finance, Alternate Governor of the Board of Governors of the Black Sea Trade and Development Bank (BSTDB), representing the Hellenic Republic, vice Chairman of the Bod of the Gas Supply Company Attica S.A., member of the BoD of the Athens Urban Transport Organization, financial advisor to the Minister at the Ministry of Economy & Finance and visiting Professor at the Athens University of Economics & Finance and at the Democritus University of Thrace. Mr. Kollias holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics from the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, a Master’s Degree in Business Administration (MBA) from the University of Piraeus and a PhD in the same subject, from the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens.

Eleni Koritsa is a professional with over 30 years of experience in financial markets, specializing in asset management, treasury, corporate governance, and sustainability. She is a certified non-executive board member with extensive expertise in executive management, regulatory compliance, audit, and business development. Eleni has held leadership roles in prominent organizations, including Eurobank Asset Management MFMC, Eurobank EFG Asset Management, and the Bank of Greece, where she demonstrated exceptional skills in institutional sales and business development, as well as portfolio management, risk management and governance oversight. She is a passionate advocate for sustainable finance, having initiated Eurobank Asset Management MFMC’s UN PRI membership and chaired its ESG Committee. Eleni holds advanced certifications, including a Diploma in Company Direction from the Institute of Directors and a CFA in ESG Investing. She is actively involved in mentoring programs, angel investing, and professional organizations such as the EMCC, WCD, and ILA. With a strong academic background, including an M.Sc. in Economics from the London School of Economics, Eleni combines her intellectual rigor with a deep commitment to fostering innovation, sustainability, and excellence in board direction.

Aikaterini Savvaidou is currently an Independent Non-Executive Member of the Board of Directors of AIA. She is an Associate Professor at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (School of Law) and a visiting professor at the University of Macedonia (Department of Economics). She has been awarded the Jean Monnet Chairs in European Tax Policy and Administration by the European Commission and in EU Fiscal Governance and Transparency (“EUFiscGov”). She is also lawyer of the Supreme Court, tax advisor and accredited mediator. Ms. Savvaidou served as the Secretary General of Public Revenue in the Greek Ministry of Finance between June 2014 and October 2015 and acted as special advisor to the Greek Deputy Minister of Finance and to the Inspectors - Controllers Body for Public Administration. Ms. Savvaidou has previously worked at PricewaterhouseCoopers and Arthur Andersen and has taught at the National & Kapodistrian University of Athens, the Greek National School of Public Administration, the Greek National School of Judges and European Judicial Training Network. Ms. Savvaidou holds a degree in Law from the National & Kapodistrian University of Athens, Greece, a diploma of higher education in French Studies from Université Jean – Moulin-Lyon III, a master’s degree in Public Law from Université de Paris I – Sorbonne, and a master’s degree in Public Finance and Tax Law, a doctoral degree from Université de Paris II, Assas, a post-doctoral degree from University of Athens, Greece, and an executive certificate on “Comparative Tax Policy and Administration” at Harvard University’s John F. Kennedy School of Government. She is also a member of the Board of Directors of Hellenic Halyvourgia S.A. since January 2026.

Lorraine Scaramangas is currently an Independent Non-Executive Member of the Board of Directors of AIA. She is a graduate of the University of Glasgow with a degree (MA) (in Language and Literature) and a bachelor’s degree (LLB) (Scots Law). She worked for Arthur Andersen, London, between 1979 and 1985, where she qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1984, and for PricewaterhouseCoopers, Athens, between 1985 and 2003, becoming a partner in 1991 and Head of the Financial Services group in 1998. She was a consultant and finance director at Alpha Tankers & Freighters International Ltd. (from 2005 to 2011) and chaired the audit committees of Eurobank’s subsidiary banks in Bulgaria and Serbia from 2007 to 2020. She has also acted as a Quality Assurance consultant to the Internal Audit function of Eurobank and provided ad hoc consultancy services in the shipping sector. Ms. Scaramangas was a member of the Board of Directors and Chair of the Audit Committee of HELLENiQ ENERGY Holdings S.A. between 2021 and 2024 and is currently a member of the Board of Directors and audit committee of Eurobank Private Bank Luxembourg, appointed in 2020. In 2024 Ms. Scaramangas obtained the ICAEW’s Sustainability Certificate.

Panagiotis Tampourlos is currently an Independent Non-Executive Member of the Board of Directors of AIA. He holds a degree in Economics from the University of Piraeus and an MBA from McGill University (Canada). He has over 40 years of experience in senior financial and governance roles in multinational and listed companies. He has served as Group CFO and Regional CFO (Europe, Middle East and Africa) in major international organizations, including Pfizer/Warner Lambert, Frigoglass and OTE (Hellenic Telecommunications Organisation). Earlier in his career, he held senior finance positions at American Express, Hilti, ICI and Milchem International. Mr. Tampourlos has extensive experience as an independent non-executive director, having served on the boards and on Audit and/or Remuneration Committees of companies operating in highly regulated and systemically important sectors, including infrastructure, payments, telecommunications, energy and financial services. His board experience includes OTE, COSMOTE, COSMOTE Payments, DIAS Interbanking Systems, DESFA (Hellenic Gas Transmission System Operator), Orange Telecom Romania.
