Our Ground Handling team
Ground Handling Services are the services provided to an aircraft, its cargo load or its passengers during its arrival, parking or prior to its departure at an airport.
Athens International Airport (AIA) is responsible for the award and supervision of Ground Handling services in accordance with local and EU Regulations and does not provide Ground Handling services itself.
The Ground Handling team:

Carries out processes required for the award of Ground Handling Rights to ground handling companies.

Enters into Agreements with the respective companies.

Acts as the focal point of communication and coordination between AIA and the ground handling companies, and coordinating all issues arising from the respective Agreements.

Acts as the Facilitator and Coordinator of the whole ground handling community and as the developer of new ground handling-related projects.

Represents AIA in AIA’s Users Committee (AIAUC) and the Airline Operators Committee (AOC).

Cooperates with State Authorities to ensure the smooth and efficient provision of ground handling services at the airport.

Is responsible for the Ground Handling Centralized Resources Pricing and the related incentive program.
