Terms & Conditions
Athens International Airport S.A. (AIA) is organizing the “Unlock Athens” contest (hereinafter referred to as the “Contest” or the “Promotional Activity”), offering one (1) grand prize for a unique experience in Athens. In addition, up to 20 lucky winners will receive a collectible commemorative gift, “The Key to Athens”, in a limited edition.
The Contest is held through AIA’s printed magazine “Ready2Board” during the publication period of the following two (2) issues:
- Blue Issue 68: July 2025 – September 2025
- Green Issue 69: October 2025 – December 2025
Contest Mechanism:
Each quarterly edition of “Ready2Board” includes ten (10) lucky copies with winning QR codes, i.e. twenty (20) in total across both editions.
The magazine is available free of charge at the Athens International Airport terminal.
On page 40 of Blue Issue 68, readers will find the contest promotion. By scanning the QR code, they can instantly find out if they are one of the lucky winners.
On page 14 of Green Issue 69, readers will find the contest promotion. By scanning the QR code, they can instantly find out if they are one of the lucky winners.
Each edition includes ten (10) winning QR codes across all copies. To register their participation and claim their prize, each winner must complete an online form with their full name, email address, phone number, and country, and then click submit.
After the end of each edition's distribution period, AIA will contact the ten (10) winners to arrange for their collectible gift “The Key to Athens” to be delivered.
The twenty (20) winners from both editions will automatically enter a draw for the grand prize, a special experience in Athens. One (1) grand winner will be selected via draw on Monday, December 15, 2025 and will be contacted using the information provided on the entry form.
Terms & Conditions:
Each winning QR code can only be used once. Upon successful registration, the QR code is deactivated.
Participants must be individuals over the age of 18. Employees of AIA and BRAINBUZZ MEDIA CONSULTING IKE are not eligible.
Contact with winners will be made using the details submitted in the entry form.
If the email address or phone number provided by the winner is invalid, non-functional, or deactivated, or if the winner refuses or fails to claim the prize for any reason, or if their participation is disqualified due to non-compliance with the terms and conditions of the Competition, they forfeit any right or claim to the prize.
The Grand Prize includes:
- One (1) overnight stay for two (the winner and one guest) at a 5-star hotel in Athens.
- One (1) dinner for two (the winner and one guest) at a restaurant.
- One (1) curated experience in Athens, depending on the season of redemption.
The prize must be redeemed by December 15, 2026.
If the winner resides in Athens, the prize remains the same: overnight stay, dinner, and experience for two.
If the winner resides in another Greek city, AIA will cover round-trip airfare for the winner and their companion of choice from the nearest airport.
If the winner resides abroad, AIA will also cover round-trip airfare for the winner and their companion of choice from the nearest international airport.
- Flights must be taken by the winner and the guest they nominate.
- The airline for the flight to and from Athens will be determined according to the winner’s location of departure and the availability of scheduled flights.
- Travel dates may differ from the winner’s preferences, depending on seat availability.
- The name details submitted by the winner for ticket booking/issuance must be identical to those on their passport.
- Tickets cannot be transferred, sold, or exchanged.
- Changes after ticket issuance are not permitted.
- In the event of denied boarding, no compensation will be offered. The use of frequent flyer benefits is not permitted, nor are seat upgrades allowed.
- Travelers must have all necessary travel documents (e.g. passport, visa).
- Any additional expenses beyond the one-night stay or included services are the responsibility of the winner and guest.
AIA shall not be held liable for any hindrance to the execution of the Promotional Activity resulting from the fault or malicious intent of third parties.
The Contest results are final and cannot be challenged or appealed.
Athens International Airport S.A. reserves the right to exploit for advertising purposes any event related to the Promotional Activity.
Within this context, the winner agrees, without any claim for compensation, remuneration, consideration, reimbursement of expenses or, in general, any other demand, to assist AIA in the timely production of relevant visual and audio material and to attend (should they wish to) any related event to which they are invited by AIA.
By participating in the Promotional Activity, the winner automatically grants AIA the right to use their photographs, as well as any recorded image and/or voice, for advertising purposes through any form of promotion, for a period of one (1) year from the time the prize is redeemed, without prior consultation and without any financial or other claim. By entering the Competition, the winner is deemed to have given their full, irrevocable, and unconditional consent to the above. Through their participation, the winner fully, irrevocably, and unconditionally agrees, acknowledges, and accepts that the use of their name, as well as the promotional use of the aforementioned personal data (name, image, voice, etc.), does not infringe upon their personality rights under Articles 57 et seq. of the Greek Civil Code and that they shall not be entitled to any form of compensation.
Participation in the Competition constitutes the participant’s explicit and unconditional consent to the collection and processing of their personal data for the purposes of organizing, evaluating, promoting, and executing the Competition, in accordance with the provisions of the GDPR. Furthermore, by participating in the Promotional Activity, the winner agrees, acknowledges, and accepts that the use of their name, as well as the use and promotional exploitation of the aforementioned personal data (name, image, voice, etc.), does not infringe upon their personality rights under Articles 57 et seq. of the Greek Civil Code.
A winner’s participation may be cancelled at any stage, including the stage of claiming or using the prize (e.g., issuance or receipt of tickets/vouchers), for any of the following reasons: (a) if, for any reason, the winner does not fully accept these Terms in their entirety—which are all considered essential—and fails to sign a relevant declaration of acceptance; (b) if their participation does not comply with any of the present Terms; (c) if, at AIA’s discretion, the participation is deemed to be the result of unlawful technical manipulation of AIA’s systems, fraud, or any unfair interference by the participant or any third party; (d) if any of the submitted information is found to be false; (e) if, for any reason, the attempt to contact the winner within the twenty (20) days following the draw is unsuccessful; (f) if, for any reason, the winner fails to appear as specified above or appears late to claim the prize. In any such case of cancellation, the right to the prize will be transferred to the next alternate winner, as determined by the draw.
AIA reserves the right to amend the terms of the Contest, provided that the public is duly informed in advance, or to cancel the Contest altogether. In such cases, participants shall not be entitled to any form of compensation

Participation in the Contest implies full and automatic acceptance of these terms and conditions.
