What changes at Athens Aiport
In 2025, the airport expansion project will gradually begin to accommodate the growing needs of over 40 million passengers per year.
The 1st phase includes:

The construction of a Multi-storey Parking facility in the Short Term 1 parking area.

The expansion of the apron on the northern side of the airport.
The 2nd phase includes:

The expansion of the Main Terminal building and the Schengen area.

Upgrades to the Satellite Terminal building.
Short Term 1 parking relocation from 10/07
Τhe Short Term 1 parking is relocated within the Long Term parking, near the pedestrian bridge, offering fast and easy access to the Main Terminal Building.
Parking characteristics:
- 5 minute walk via the pedestrian bridge from/to the Main Terminal Building.
- Available only for gate access (not available for online booking).
- Parking spaces for electric vehicle charging will be available.
- Free of charge parking for 30 minutes.
As you approach the airport, through Attiki Odos, you will be able to view in real time, on the appropriate navigation signs, the space availability of the airport parking areas.
Entry / Exit Process:
- Enter the Long Term parking area and take your ticket.
- Follow the signs towards Short Term 1 parking area.
- Use your ticket to enter the Short Term 1 parking area.
- Upon return you can pay at Short Term 1 dedicated autopay stations located inside the parking area, near the escalators of the pedestrian bridge.
- Exit the Short Term 1 parking area by using your ticket.
- Follow the designated lanes of Long Term / Short Term 1 to exit the parking area.
- Use your ticket and the exit barriers will open automatically.
Relocation of parking spaces for persons with disabilities
In order to better meet the needs of our passengers, enhance the overall travel experience, and reduce walking distances, designated parking spaces for persons with disabilities have been relocated from Short Term 1 parking to Short Term 2 parking.
Please use the specially marked parking spaces in Short Term 2 parking, where a special daily rate of €5 is offered upon presentation of valid disability documentation, in accordance with applicable legislation.
To ensure smooth service and to benefit from the special rate, please contact the Customer Service Office upon your return by pressing the information button located at the automated pay stations or the entry/exit control machines. Alternatively, you may call +30 210 3534260, which is available 24/7.
Passengers with disabilities and/or reduced mobility are strongly encouraged to request the necessary assistance and specify the type of support needed when booking their flight. After parking in Short Term 2 parking, they should proceed to the designated assistance point for people with disabilities and/or reduced mobility (point No. 4), located within the Short Term 2 parking area, and notify the staff of their arrival in order to receive the required assistance from that point.
Motorcycles parking relocation from 03/07
The existing motorcycle parking areas are relocated to a dedicated motorcycle parking within the Long Term parking, with separate entrance and free of charge for all users.
Parking of motorcycles outside the designated parking area is prohibited.
Frequently asked questions
The Short Term 1 parking area is now closed and relocated within the Long Term parking, in a dedicated area, around the pedestrian bridge of the airport's Railway Station.
It is now located within the Long Term parking area, around the the pedestrian bridge, providing easy and direct access to the Main Terminal Building.
The motorcycle parking areas located within and in front of the Short Term 1 parking have been discontinued since 03/07 and have been relocated to a specially designated area within the Long Term parking. The new area has a separate entrance, next to the main entrance of the Long Term parking, and will offer free access to all motorcycle users.
